UBER PROLOGUE <3

So I've been working on this...isn't done yet...but yeah, just so you get the gisty.

Once upon a time, there were six sisters. These sisters were witches, but blessed in a way all other witches were not. Each sister had a gift for which they were named.
Kalista: Beauty of energy/healing
Kiandra-Water
Vivianna-Spirit/life
Nymphadora-Earth
Sora-Wind/air
Edaine-Fire

Kalista, the eldest sister, was jealous of the fact that her younger sisters gained powers from their gifts, while she could only give powers to others.

So, she consulted with a Welsh sorcerer who told her that he knew of a ritual that would invert her powers.

The spell required that she summon a dark cloud that she would have to give a sacrifice to in order for the ritual to work. The cloud would absorb the animal's energy and pass it on to Kalista, who from then on would be able to absorb energy and power on her own.

Kalista decided to perform the ritual on All Soul's Day, and, after capturing a cat from town, she built a large bonfire. As she read the ancient Welsh incantation that the sorcerer had given her, the smoke issuing from the fire became black as pitch, as black as Kalista's heart.

The cloud moved from the flames and engulfed the cat's body. When the cloud pulled away, it left behind the cat's corpse, which was blackened and burned by the flames which had given birth to the cloud.

Kalista was then swallowed by the cloud. After a moment, she re-emerged, ashen-faced, but triumphant.

At first, no one knew what she had done. But then, gradually, Kalista began to excersize her newfound abilities. Every night she would go out and meeet someone on the roads, or a tavern, or market place. After the sixth disappearance, the sisters called a family meeting.

Kalista did not attend.

They began the meeting nonetheless, and began to realize the pattern between the people who had vanished, and Kalista's "errands". Eventually, although they tried very hard to come up with another explanation, they realized that their oldest sister was responsible for the disappearances, and that they had to take action.[/color]
